One of the festival that is common in Malaysia is Eid al-Adha. It is celebrated by the Muslims throughout the world at the end of Hajj ,on 10th day of Dhul Hijjah as per the Islamic calendar. During the Hajj, Muslims commemorate the willingness of Abraham to follow Allah's command to sacrifice his son as test of his devotion. Though he loved his son, Abraham made up his mind to follow Allah’s command. As he was ready to execute the assigned mission, Allah sent Angel Jibril to replace Ismail with a ram which Prophet Abraham ultimately sacrificed.
On Eid al-Adha, people dress up in new clothes and Eid prayers are being offered in groups. A khutba(sermon) follows the spiritual prayer. Then, the muslims observe the urban ritual which includes sacrificing a sheep, cow, goat or the buffalo. After Eid Al-Adha, all the people again get back to the normal routine life.
